We’ll be taking a look at some key fixtures to place your bets on this weekend.
Saturday 8 September
United States 5/1
Draw 33/10
Brazil 5/10
(01:30)
Five-time World Cup-winners Brazil will play the United States in a friendly at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The Yanks have played five friendlies this year. After a goalless draw at home to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dave Sarachan’s side won back-to-back games in the US against Paraguay and Bolivia. They then lost 2-1 to the Republic of Ireland in Dublin but held France to a 1-1 draw in Decines-Charpieu, near Lyon. This will be Brazil’s first match since they exited the 2018 World Cup in Russia, going out in the quarter-finals at the hands of Belgium. In the latest FIFA rankings released, the Brazilians fell one spot to third, behind world champions France and Belgium. USA are strong at home but Tite’s star-studded side should prove too strong. Back the South Americans and include them in all multiples.
Mexico 19/10
Draw 2/1
Uruguay 15/10
(04:00)
South American heavyweights, Uruguay, face North Americans, Mexico, in an international friendly in Houston on Saturday. This will be these sides’ first match since competing in Russia 2018. El Tri caused one of the upsets of the World Cup when they beat Germany 1-0 in the group stages thanks to Hirving Lozano’s strike. That victory gave the Mexicans the confidence to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament, but they exited at that stage as they lost 2-0 to Brazil. Uruguay were also eliminated in the quarter-finals in Russia, going down 2-0 to eventual winners, France. Prior to that, La Celeste won seven matches in a row across all competitions, scoring 13 goals while conceding just once. However, the South Americans will be without one of their main stars, Edinson Cavani. The Paris Saint-Germain striker is being rested after only recently returning to full fitness following a hamstring injury sustained at the World Cup. Avoid picking a winner here and back Both Teams to Score at 19/20.
Argentina 1/16
Draw 9/1
Guatemala 30/1
(05:00)
Argentina face minnows Guatemala in an international friendly on Saturday in Los Angeles. Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria of Paris Saint-Germain and new AC Milan loan signing, Gonzalo Higuain, have been left out of interim coach Lionel Scaloni’s squad, while Lionel Messi is also absent with various reports saying that the Barcelona star asked to be excused from La Albiceleste’s four remaining friendlies in 2018. Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi headline the squad. After a disappointing showing in Russia 2018, Argentina will be seeking a morale-boosting victory over Guatemala, who are ranked 146st in the latest FIFA rankings. With so many big names not featuring for Argentina, back the South Americans to Win & Under 3.5 Goals at 11/20.
