Hugo Broos announces final Bafana Bafana squad to face Congo

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced his final 23-man squad which will take on Congo in a double-header clash for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

South Africa will welcome Congo on 11 October at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and then will visit Congo for the return clash on 15 October.

Some notable omissions include Veli Mothwa, Bradley Cross, Siyabonga Ngezana (injured), Bathusi Aubaas, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Mihlali Mayambela, Percy Tau and Devin Titus.

Pirates defender Thabiso Sesane who started the season on a high note received his first national team call-up. Captain Ronwen Williams returns to the national team set-up having missed out on the last camp due to a shoulder injury.

Broos’ side is currently second on the Group K standings, separated by goal difference with Uganda who are currently at the helm of the group.
