Home Coming: Former Orlando Pirates Striker Joins Scottland FC

Following an eight-year stint in South African football, former Orlando Pirates forward Terrence Dzvukamanja, has made a return to his native Zimbabwe, signing with top-flight club Scottland FC.

This move marks a new chapter for the 31-year-old, who will now ply his trade in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Dzvukamanja’s most recent spell in South Africa was with SuperSport United, where he spent the last two seasons, making a total of 58 appearances across all competitions.

His tenure with Matsatsantsa concluded after the 2024/25 season, a challenging period for the club that saw them narrowly avoid relegation before the team was ultimately sold.

Despite only contributing two goals and one assist in 23 appearances last season, his experience was reportedly a crucial factor in SuperSport’s fight for survival.

Expressing his enthusiasm for this new challenge, Dzvukamanja was quoted in a Scottland FC statement saying, “I’m thrilled to be here at Scottland FC, ready to embrace the challenge and score goals to help the team advance.”

Dzvukamanja first arrived in South Africa in July 2018, joining the now-defunct Bidvest Wits from Zimbabwean side Ngezi Platinum FC. After two solid seasons with the Students, his performances caught the eye of Orlando Pirates, who signed him in 2020.

His time with the Soweto giants included several memorable moments, most notably scoring the winning goal in the 2023 Nedbank Cup final against Sekhukhune United.

However, his departure from Pirates after his cup final heroics was abrupt. Citing family reasons, he unexpectedly parted ways with the Sea Robbers, only to resurface at SuperSport United just a few weeks later, reuniting with his former coach, Gavin Hunt. This swift move reportedly took the Pirates hierarchy by surprise, as they had intended to retain his services.

Now back on home soil, Dzvukamanja is set to form a potent attacking force at Scottland FC. He will link up with fellow Zimbabwean stars Khama Billiat and Walter Musona, creating what promises to be a formidable front line in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

His experience and knack for crucial goals will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to Scottland FC as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
