Barcelona coach Hansi Flick says it is “fully acceptable” for Lamine Yamal to be “a bit annoyed” after being substituted in the 2-1 UEFA Champions League win.
Yamal was replaced by Roony Bardghji in the final minute of the continental clash and appeared to be complaining to himself and did not look happy as he sat on the bench.
The 18-year-old was booked in the 56th minute for a foul and will miss Barcelona’s next Champions League match after an accumulation of yellow cards in the tournament this season.
“We changed Lamine with a few minutes to go because he was booked and it was late,” Flick said.
“If he was a bit annoyed, then I fully understand and I like it. I was a player too. It’s fully acceptable, not a problem.”
It was Yamal’s cross that led to Jules Kounde’s second goal to give Barcelona the come-from-behind win against the German side.
The victory moved Barcelona to 14th place, two points from the eighth spot in the competition’s league phase.
