Group C: ENGLAND GRIND OUT WIN, SLOVENIA DENIES DENMARK

Group C provided a mixed bag on Matchday 1, with a nervy victory for the favorites and a surprising result that threw the group wide open.

England Labor to Narrow Win

England, considered one of the tournament’s frontrunners, got off to a shaky start. Despite dominating possession against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen, they struggled to create clear-cut chances.  A moment of brilliance from young midfielder Jude Bellingham secured a narrow 1-0 win, but questions remain over England’s attacking fluency.

A Tight Race Emerges

With Slovenia rescuing a point in the final fifteen minutes from their tie with Denmark, an intriguing scenario has emerged in Group C.  While England remains favorites, their unconvincing performance has opened the door for others. Serbia, despite the defeat, showed defensive resilience and will be looking to bounce back against Slovenia in their next match.

Looking Ahead

The race for qualification in Group C promises to be a tight battle.  England needs to find their attacking spark against a potentially tricky Denmark side in their next match. Serbia can’t afford another slip-up if they want to stay in contention.
