Kaizer Chiefs slipped from third to fifth in the standings after suffering three straight Betway Premiership defeats, beginning with a 2-1 loss to Stellenbosch and followed by a heavy 3-0 Soweto derby defeat to Orlando Pirates.
They then lost 1-0 to Richards Bay but made a return to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Durban City at the weekend, with Lilepo on target.
Next up is a clash with bottom-side Magesi, and with 11 games still to play this season, the player says it is important for Chiefs to win as many of their remaining games as possible and make a return to the continent.
Speaking ahead of the game, Lilepo said on IOL: “It’s football. If the league is not finished, you still need to focus because there are 11 games still to be played.

“We need to work hard to play continental football, particularly the CAF Champions League next season.”
Chiefs are currently in fifth place on the league standings with 33 points from 19 games, one point behind third-placed Sekhukhune United, who have played two more games. Magesi have managed just 14 points from 20 games.
“We will face Magesi in our next game, and we know that won’t be an easy game because Magesi are also a good team,” added Lilepo.
“They defend and attack well. But we are training hard to win the game. If we do well, that will give us the confidence to win another game.”
