Gavin Hunt was delighted to see new striker signing Christian Saile score on his SuperSport United debut.
The 25-year-old DR Congo forward was snapped up by Matsatsantsa from Kaizer Chiefs last week, in a deal that saw Tashreeq Morris move the other way.
Saile struggled for game-time and goals with Amakhosi but was thrown straight into the starting line-up by Hunt for their 2-0 Nedbank Cup last 32 win over Magesi.
Vincent Pule opened the scoring after just five minutes at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium before Saile netted with 51 minutes on the clock.
Speaking after the game, Hunt said on iDiski Times: “Obviously when the whole thing came about he’s different to what we’ve got and we needed something like that.
“So I was obviously sad to see Morris go but we got Christian in his place and he’s different, totally different.
“So I’ll try and use him to his strength and we’ll see where he goes. We can only show him a few things and try and get him in the right areas and then see where we go from there but he’s got the right attitude for us.”
Hunt added: “I think he’ll fit into our culture. The most important thing is players coming into our culture. You know I don’t want players who are not going to fit into our culture and he’s got our culture – hardworking, honest and diligent and that’s what we want.”
SuperSport are next in action away to AmaZulu in the Betway Premiership on Saturday.
