Frosler: Hopefully I get a chance to do what I do best

Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler is hoping to replicate his man of the match performance of last season’s Soweto Derby in Saturday’s clash with rivals Orlando Pirates.

The 24-year-old right-back was instrumental in a 1-0 victory over Bucs at the FNB Stadium in March where Samir Nurkovic scored the winner on 54 minutes.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, claimed a 2-1 win in the first Soweto Derby of the season, with Keagan Dolly’s goals cancelling out a Linda Mntambo strike, although Frosler was only used as a very late substitute in that encounter.

Reflecting on his performance last term, the former Bidvest Wits man said in the Citizen that he is ready to perform if called upon.

He explained: “It was last season…I still remember it very clearly. What made the difference (in that game) is that we worked well as a team. If you do well as a team, then individuals look better. And because the team did well, I also did a little better than I normally do.”

An upbeat Frosler added: “It is exciting…a little bit of nerves here and there. I don’t think there is that much nerves though without the fans there. We would have loved for the fans to have been back.

“But yeah, I am excited and looking forward to doing well again. Hopefully I will get a chance to do what I do best.”
