There were some truly seismic Ligue 1 results last week with PSG running out 9-0 winners over Guingamp while Strasbourg handed Monaco a 5-1 home hammering.
There are no real standout fixtures this week, although it’ll be worth keeping an eye on Monaco’s trip to Dijon in what will be a crucial relegation six-pointer.

Marseille 23/20
Draw 24/10
Lille 47/20
(21:45)
Marseille’s league form of late has been atrocious. They’ve only managed a single win in six matches which simply isn’t good enough for a club that harbours Champions League ambitions. Their slump has seen them drop down to seventh in the standings behind the likes of St. Etienne, Strasbourg and Montpellier. They did get back to winning ways last time out against Caen, with a 47th minute Morgan Samson strike giving them all three points last week. Lille are flying high with all memories of last season now banished. They sit second on the table at the minute, having claimed three league wins in four matches. The only blip in that run came in a surprise 2-1 defeat at home against Toulouse. I’m putting my neck out here and tipping Lille to get the job done at 47/20. It’s never easy to go to Marseille and get a result, but I reckon Christophe Galtier’s men can consolidate their grip on second place by taking all three points.
Saturday 26 January
Nantes 16/10
Draw 43/20
St. Etienne 18/10
(18:00)
Nantes are really struggling this season, and they risk being dragged into a relegation battle if they don’t start getting a couple of results soon. They’ve lost four of their last five league encounters, with their only win in that period surprisingly coming in a 2-0 triumph over Montpellier. St. Etienne, meanwhile, are flying high in fourth place. A run of three straight wins was brought to an end by Lyon last week, who beat them 2-1 at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. You don’t really expect them to have too much trouble dealing with the very limited threat that Nantes pose, though. Get on the away win at 18/10.
Nice 21/20
Draw 9/4
Nimes 29/10
(21:00)
We’re off to the south of France next where Nice are set to do battle with newcomers, Nimes. Nice have been involved in far too many draws of late, with five of their last six encounters ending in stalemates. Nimes have been as inconsistent as you’d expect from a newly promoted side. They’ve won four and lost three of their last seven league matches, making them a particularly difficult team to tip for or against. Nimes have actually been pretty good on the road of late, picking up nine points from a possible 12. With this in mind, backing the draw isn’t the worst idea; especially when you consider Nice’s recent form.
Guingamp 31/20
Draw 2/1
Stade Reims 29/20
(21:00)
You have to feel a bit for Guingamp. They’re rock bottom of the table with just three wins from 21 games. They wouldn’t have gone to PSG last week with much hope of winning, but to be spanked 9-0 is just embarrassing. Reims will smell blood when they make the trip to the Stade du Roudourou on Saturday afternoon. They’re undefeated in five fixtures, with four of those results ending in draws. Hardly the worst sequence of results when you consider they played Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon and Nice in that period. Get on the away team to win here.
Dijon 2/1
Draw 47/20
Monaco 13/10
(21:00)
Dijon will be desperate to claim the three points here to put a bit of breathing room between them and the automatic relegation zone. Their recent form doesn’t instil much confidence, though. They’ve picked up one point out of a possible 12 and only found the back of the net once in those four games. Perhaps a strong showing against Monaco is what they need to kick-start their season. Monaco were slapped around in brutal fashion at home last week against Strasbourg who eventually ran out 5-1 winners. Things certainly aren’t going to plan for Thierry Henry and his charges at the minute, picking up two points from their last five matches as relegation becomes very real possibility. This is such a difficult one to call, I don’t see many goals flying in though. Take Under 2.5 Goals at 9/10.
Strasbourg 2/1
Draw 43/20
Bordeaux 22/10
(21:00)
Strasbourg are flying high at the moment and will be oozing confidence when they return home to face Bordeaux. Thierry Laurey’s outfit have won three league games on the spin, including a sensational 5-1 win away at Monaco last week. Bordeaux have endured a frustrating season that has been blighted by inconsistency. They find themselves down in 10th place as a result. They have managed to pick up back-to-back league wins against Angers and Dijon lately, but you feel that Strasbourg will have their number at the Stade de la Meinau. Home side to win at 27/20.
Sunday 27 January
Montpellier 7/10
Draw 51/20
Caen 9/2
(16:00)
Montpellier head into Sunday’s early kick-off against Caen as hot favourites. They’ll be looking to end a run of five straight games without a win though, which has included three draws and two defeats. They’ll be confident of snapping that run against relegation-threatened Caen. Caen have suffered consecutive defeats in the league albeit against strong opposition in the form of Lille and Marseille. They won’t head to Stade de la Mosson with much confidence, though. They’ve not performed well against teams in the top six this season. Montpellier are tipped to end their winless run here.
Amiens 17/4
Draw 3/1
Lyon 6/10
(18:00)
Not much to say about this one. Amiens look set to be involved in a relegation scrap for the remainder of the season. Lyon, meanwhile, have won two and drawn three of their last five league encounters. You’d fully expect them to get the job done away at Amiens. 6/10 looks a good bit of value.
PSG 2/11
Draw 6/1
Stade Rennais 13/1
(22:00)
PSG’s 9-0 dismantling of Guingamp last week just shows how far ahead of the competition they really are. Back them to Win To Nil at 17/20 against Stade Rennais.
TREBLE @ 53/10
Strasbourg Win 27/20
Montpellier Win 7/10
Lyon Win 6/10
