Fortune Makaringe expects tricky test against talented Orbit College

Fortune Makaringe says Cape Town City need to be wary of Orbit College in their Premier Soccer League promotion/relegation play-offs.

The post-season round-robin competition got underway on Wednesday, with Orbit held to a goalless draw with Casric Stars.

The 32-year-old former Moroka Swallows, Maritzburg United, and Orlando Pirates midfielder has given some insight into their upcoming clash at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

Makaringe explained that their North West opponents will provide stern opposition due to the quality of their squad.

Speaking after training on Thursday, the experienced campaigner explained that he is looking to take on a number of familiar faces, with the Orbit squad peppered with a number of Pirates’ loanees.

The player told Diski Times: “There are a couple of players that are on loan there.

“Even when I was still at Pirates, there were players who were there. So they have a good relationship, I would say.

“And luckily for me, when you’re not in the 18-man squad, you’d have to play alongside the players from Diski and Pele Pele, so I got a chance to rub shoulders with those players.

“And to see them doing well, actually, it’s a nice gesture for all the young talent out there.”
