Football faithfuls mourn the passing of Former Orlando Pirates and Zimbabwe star Tendai Ndoro

Former Orlando Pirates, Ajax Cape Town and Zimbabwe star Tendai Ndoro has passed away at the age of 40.

The nature of his death has not yet been confirmed, but reports indicate that Ndoro was found dead in his apartment in Sandton after battling diabetes for years.

Ndoro was capped 14 times for Zimbabwe and managed to represent his country at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The forward started his career with Chicken Inn in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League between 2011 and 2013 before moving to South African club Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Ndoro played for Pirates between 2015 and 2017 and had a good season in 2016-17, when he netted 12 league goals and came within a whisker of winning the Golden Boot.

He then represented Highlands Park and was last on the books of Oman top-flight outfit Al Ourba SC, while he also plied his trade in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Faisaly.

Pirates led the tributes to their former player, posting on social media: “Orlando Pirates are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former striker, Tendai Ndoro (2015–2017).

“The club extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
