One of our regular readers, Nhlakanipho Khoza, from Kenville in Durban, took his time to chat with one of our team members.
Hi Nhlakanipho, thank you for taking the time to chat with us. How long have you been following SBN?
Nhlakanipho Khoza: I started following SBN in 2016, though, at that time, I only used to follow the website. I only started buying the paper in 2017 and I can say it has so much more.
What made you want to buy the paper and where do you buy it?
Well, I never used to visit the branches, I didn’t even know how to fill in the bet card. I take most of my bets online, but since I’ve moved to Kenville, I go to the Hollywoodbets Springfield branch more often. I saw the paper there and I wanted to see how it looks, so I bought it and I realised it’s better to buy the paper than to only follow the website as it has more things [content].
What do you like most about the paper?
I like the fact that it has more news than the website, but the reason I buy the paper is because I want betting tips and I enjoy reading the previews, especially the Premier League.
Interesting, so do you have a team that you support, locally and overseas?
Yes, I support Liverpool and here in South Africa, my team is Orlando Pirates.
Do you think Liverpool will beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final?
It will be a very difficult game for both teams. I honestly don’t think there is a favourite in that game, both teams have a fair chance of winning. I’m hoping we win it but it won’t be easy.
Who’s your favourite player?
It has to be Messi.
Would you like to give our readers your best bet for this weekend?
Yes, but my strategy is different, I pick the strong favourites and up my stake. This weekend, I’m backing wins for PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Man City, Sundowns, Pirates and Chelsea. I usually play with R250 or R300.
If you had to choose one of the two options which one would you go for?
1. To win your bet and Liverpool lose the UCL final
2. Liverpool win the final and you lose your bet.
Haha, that’s a tricky one but I need the money so in this case I’d take the first option, haha.
