European team announce friendly match with Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs has recently revealed that they will travel to the Netherlands for their pre-season tour, and a Dutch team has confirmed the date and time for a friendly match against Amakhosi.

Amakhosi will prepare for the start of the 2025/26 season in the Netherlands from the 3rd to 19th July, following a disastrous 2024/25 season, which saw them finish ninth on the log with 32 points.

FC Utrecht released their schedule for the pre-season and confirmed that they will take on Chiefs on 11 July, the match will be played behind closed doors.

“The next opponent will follow on 11 July. The most popular club in South Africa will be the opponent: Kaizer Chiefs. This match will also be played behind closed doors,” the club statement reads.

Utrecht had an impressive season, finishing fourth in the Eredivisie standings with 64 points, having won 18, drawn 10, and suffered six losses in 34 league games.

The Nasreddine Nabi-coached team began preparations for the new season early, having released four players, including Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, Njabulo Blom and most recently Edmilson Dove. More players are expected to depart the club.

They are yet to announce any new signings despite several players being linked to the club, and Nabi being spotted scouting in Tanzania and Morocco.
