Durban City have announced the signing of Amajita captain Patrick Autata from Cape Town City.
The 20-year-old centre-back is the latest signing for the Betway Premiership club following their promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.
He joins fellow new arrivals Darren Keet, Brooklyn Poggenpoel, Trevor Mokwena, Haashim Domingo, Thabo Nodada, Kyle Jurgens, Jean Lwamba, Liam De Kock and Frederik Asare at the Gavin Hunt-coached outfit.
Autata joins the club after parting ways with relegated City. He is a part of the South Africa Under 20 squad that will participate in the U20 FIFA World Cup in Chile.
They qualified for the World Cup after winning the U20 AFCON with a 1-0 win over Morocco in the final.
A City post on social media read: “Please welcome Patrick Autata, the captain of SA U-20s to Durban City.”
City are currently in sixth place on the league standings, with two wins, two draws and one loss from their five opening matches of the season.
