Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is believed to have turned down an £800,000-per-week offer to play for Hebei China Fortune in the Chinese Super League.
The Argentina international is expected to leave the Serie A outfit this summer, but it would appear that his destination will not be the Chinese club whose roaster already boasts Ezequiel Lavezzi and Gervinho.
According to Sky Sports, Hebei China Fortune were willing to make Higuain the highest paid player in the world with an annual salary of £50 million, but the 28-year-old has rejected the chance to add his name to the ever-growing list of players heading to China.
It is believed that Arsenal are interested in signing to the striker, with Napoli having slapped an £80 million price tag on their prize asset.
