Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Vincent Pule broke the deadlock in the 30th minute at Orlando Amstel Arena, before Tshepang Moremi struck back six minutes into the second half.

The result left Pirates ahead of the Brazilians at the top of the standings by just one point and from an extra game played.

While Sundowns play Marumo Gallants in their next clash on Tuesday, Hotto’s team are next in action against TS Galaxy on Sunday.

Reflecting on the result, the player admitted they struggled to convert their chances against Siwelele but cannot dwell on past mistakes.

“You can have as many shots on target as you want, what is most important is scoring. It is a draw, one point and we take it to the next game.”

“This was a game we had in hand, we controlled everything,” said Hotto in the Ciitizen.

“Possession, shots on target, everything, the ball just didn’t want to go into the net. What can we do? We soldier on and look to the next opponent.”
