Chippa United signs former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder

Sammy Seabi has finalised a transfer to Chippa United for the upcoming Betway Premiership season, according to Mike Makaab.

The 30-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder joins the club after parting ways with Polokwane City at the end of last season.

The Bafana Bafana player started his career with Rise and Shine before making his move to Sundowns in 2019.

He struggled for game time and was sent out on loan to Moroka Swallows, Chippa and Sekhukhune United.

During his previous spell with the Chilli Boys, in the 2021/22 season, Seabi played 22 times, scoring two goals.

Seabi joins fellow new signings Justice Figuareido, Bandile Dlamini, Goodman Mosele, Azola Tshobeni and Abdoulaye Mariko at the ambitious top-flight team.

Makaab told FARPost: “We have completed a move for Sammy Seabi to join Chippa United for the upcoming season.

“I think we all know the qualities that Seabi possesses, and I think he will have a chance to showcase his full potential under the new leadership at the club.”
