Kaizer Chiefs and Fosa Juniors are in talks over the transfer of Madagascan striker Andriamirado “Dax” Andrianarimanana, Bobby Motaung has confirmed.
The two clubs are at loggerheads over the player, who signed for Amakhosi last month, but according to his old club, remains under contract at Fosa Juniors until 2020.
Chiefs feel that Dax was free to sign for them, as he came from an amateur league, but Fosa Juniors claim he was on a professional contract.
It does not appear that any resolution has been reached yet, but both Amakhosi football manager Motaung and Fosa Juniors spokesman Ando Harivola have confirmed talks between the clubs.
“We are in discussion and blessings are there. We are in discussion of the acquisition, that’s all,” Motaung said, according to Kick Off.
“It is normal when you sign a player, whether it is in Africa or Europe, if a player is free, some clubs — like in the continent — they come up with tactics of compensation which we know, we expected it, but we are not competing on that.”
Motaung added that a misunderstanding between the clubs has been caused because the player’s agent did not follow correct protocol.
“The only thing I can say at this moment is that we have received correspondence from Chiefs, but the president of the club must still study it properly,” Fosa Juniors spokesman Ando Harivola said, according to TimesLIVE.
“We will be meeting later today [Friday] to discuss it, but as things stand, Dax is still a Fosa Juniors player.”
