Carling All-Stars: Ashley Du Preez reflects on working with Pirates' Riveiro

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez is looking forward to working again with Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro.

Du Preez is a part of the Premier Soccer League All Stars team to face Carling Knockout Cup winners Stellenbosch in the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.

He was part of the team that played Stellenbosch in last season’s clash where Riveiro was also the coach – as voted in by supporters.

The All Stars team defeated Stellies 2-1 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in January with Du Preez ultimately scoring what turned out to be the winning goal – from the penalty spot on 12 minutes.

This time the team will face Magesi, following their cup final heroics against Mamelodi Sundowns, and Du Preez is looking forward to the tie.

He said on iDiski Times: “It’s our second time with the coach [Jose Riveiro], he’s very good and he understands the players very well, so it will be a nice game on the weekend.

“His consistency and how he’s been as a coach [makes him successful]. The first time I got the opportunity to work with him, he was very positive.

“I think for me as a player, coach Riveiro has been a great coach and he’s been doing well at the club.

“With his experience and all the players going into this weekend’s game, he’s doing a great job.”
