Following their recent 3-0 victory over Richards Bay in their last match, Mamelodi Sundowns return to play three days later with the league title still clearly in view.
Masandawana head to Cape Town to face the Citizens at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, 03 May, with kick-off set for 20:00.
The Miguel Cardoso-led side are currently in the driver’s seat and will be keen to stretch their 12-point lead at the top as they push to secure an eighth Betway Premiership crown on the trot.
Cape Town City, on the other hand, remain tricky opponents considering the position (15th) they find themselves in. Eric Tinkler’s departure recently saw first team coach Diogo Peral take charge of the team till the end of the season, and they are in desperate need of points.
With the business end of the season upon us, the team from the Mother City has scored the fewest goals in the division and looks certain to be heading to the promotional playoffs, where they will have to fight to preserve their PSL status for next season.
While Sundowns are pushing for another league title, the Citizens will look to play spoiler to give themselves some breathing room at the bottom of the table.

Cardoso will be hoping Iqraam Rayners can continue his good form in front of goal. The sharp striker has notched up 10 goals in 21 PSL appearances.
His pace and eye for goal make him a constant threat in the final third. Lucas Ribeiro Costa is also a threat and has 13 goals in 22 matches, the Brazilian has dazzled with his technical brilliance and clinical finishing.
As for the team from Cape Town, they will be hoping Fortune Makaringe is at his best. The former Orlando Pirates midfielder brings grit and experience to the heart of City’s midfield. Makringe is a joy to watch and has an eye for a pass.
Darwin Gonzalez is a dangerman in the final third for City. The tricky Venezuelan winger who has registered 3 goals in 21 matches. His ability to cause trouble down the wing will be key for the home side.
