Betway Premiership Round-Up: Sekhukhune Stay Perfect, TS Galaxy and Polokwane City Get First Wins

Sekhukhune United continued their dominant start to the season, securing a third consecutive league victory with a convincing 3-0 win over newly-promoted Orbit College at Dobsonville Stadium.

After a tight opening half, Vusumzi Mncube broke the deadlock just five minutes before the break.

He completed his brace on the hour mark to double the lead, before substitute Tshepo Mokoane sealed the win with a close-range header.Sekhukhune’s flawless form has them looking like early title contenders.

Polokwane City and TS Galaxy Secure First Victories

Polokwane City earned their first win of the new campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory against Siwelele FC.

The match was decided early on when Keorapetse Sebone scored the lone goal in the 18th minute. Siwelele pushed for an equalizer but couldn’t find a way through, suffering their second defeat in three games.

Meanwhile, TS Galaxy secured their first three points of the season in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to beat Chippa United 4-1 in East London.

Chippa got off to a flying start with a goal from Khaya Mfecane in the fifth minute. However, the Rockets responded with a stunning performance, led by Puso Dithejane, who bagged a hat-trick, and Mlungisi Mbunjana, who also found the net.

Durban City and Golden Arrows Share the Spoils

In a closely contested KZN derby, Durban City and Golden Arrows ended with a 1-1 draw. The home side took the lead in the 10th minute through an own goal by Arrows winger Jerome Karlese.

But Golden Arrows leveled the score just before halftime, with Junior Dion beating goalkeeper Darren Keet. Both teams had chances in the second half but were ultimately forced to settle for a point each.
