Premier Soccer League (PSL) has provided an update on a number of players who will miss out on this weekend’s Betway Premiership round of fixtures due to suspensions.
Mamelodi Sundowns are set to be without attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa who is forced to be sidelined for their clash against Polokwane City on Sunday having received two consecutive yellow cards against Lamontville Golden Arrows and another one when they edged Royal AM 2-1 on Wednesday.
Ribeiro will return in time for their crucial Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinal match where they are pitted with Kaizer Chiefs on 2 November.
Cape Town City will be without defensive midfielder Aprocius Petrus when they face giants slayers Magesi FC who knocked out Pirates 3-2 in the Carling Cup. Petrus has also accumulated yellow cards and will serve a one-match ban.
The absence of SuperSport United’s Gape Moralo will add to the woes of troubled Gavin Hunt who has suffered three consecutive defeats. Morale was shown a red card after receiving his second yellow card during their 4-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
TS Galaxy were dealt a major blow when two of their strikers received red cards in their Carling Cup last 16 match against Chippa United.
Despite the ordeal, Sead Ramovic’s side managed to hold on to their 1-0 and booked a spot in the quarterfinal.
The Rockets should aim to avoid losing another player this weekend when they clash with Marumo Gallants in a match where they will be eyeing their first league win having lost all three opening matches.
