Golden Arrows host Stellenbosch, Sekhukhune visit Magesi, while SuperSport welcome Chippa in three of five Betway Premiership matches taking place on Saturday.
Golden Arrows v Stellenbosch
Golden Arrows play host to Stellenbosch at Mpumalanga Stadium.
Currently 12th on the league table, Arrows are just three points above the relegation playoff spot. A 1-0 home loss to AmaZulu last time out stretched their winless run to three games.
Their home form is equally worrying – only one win in their last seven matches – and a toothless attack has seen them fail to score in four of those.
Stellenbosch arrive with renewed confidence after their CAF Confederation Cup semifinal exit against Simba (1-0 on aggregate). The Cape side bounced back swiftly, edging Chippa United 1-0 at home thanks to a late strike from Sanele Barns.
That win marked their second consecutive 1-0 league victory and extended their impressive run to just one defeat in the last ten matches.
Magesi FC v Sekhukhune United
Magesi FC welcome Sekhukhune United in a clash that marks only the second-ever league encounter between the two sides.
This match marks just the second-ever league meeting between Magesi FC and Sekhukhune United. Their first encounter this season ended in a narrow 1-0 win for Sekhukhune, with Andy Boyeli scoring just before the break.
Now, on home turf, Magesi will be eager to avenge that defeat. They come into this tie in red-hot form – four wins in a row, including a recent 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy – and sit in 11th place on the table.
Sekhukhune, meanwhile, are flying high after a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Wednesday. That result helped cement their place in third, with momentum firmly on their side heading into the weekend.
SuperSport United v Chippa United
SuperSport United continue their survival fight when they host Chippa United.
SuperSport are in deep trouble. Sitting 14th in the standings, Gavin Hunt’s side have picked up just five wins all season. With only 14 goals scored and 24 conceded, the team has struggled at both ends of the pitch.
Their recent form is bleak – four draws and a loss in their last five matches – with a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City highlighting their ongoing issues.
Chippa United, in contrast, are solidly mid-table. With 30 points and an eighth-place standing, their sturdy defense (only 18 goals conceded) has been key. However, their away form leaves room for concern – two wins, three draws, and five losses on the road.
Despite a 1-0 loss to Stellenbosch in their last game, Chippa will look to bounce back and capitalise on SuperSport’s fragile form.
