Golden Arrows and Chippa United both have their sights on a top eight place while the battle for safety heats up at the bottom of the Premiership standings.
Golden Arrows and Chippa United
Golden Arrows and Chippa United will be fighting for a spot in the top eight in the Betway Premiership this weekend.
Abafana Bes’thende moved onto 27 points in 10th place in the league after beating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 last time, while Chilli Boys sit in ninth place with 28 points from one game extra.
Chippa comes into this encounter on the back of successive wins, over Polokwane City and AmaZulu.
The two sides have already met twice this season, with Thabo September’s side winning the reverse fixture 2-0 and the Nedbank Cup last 32 encounter 2-1.
But Arrows will be a far more competitive outfit this time around, with former head coach Manqoba Mngqithi having returned to the hot seat. He has overseen a 1-0 win over Polokwane, a 1-0 loss to Magesi, and the Amakhosi victory.
Marumo Gallants v SuperSport United
Marumo Gallants will look to make it three wins from three at home to SuperSport United in the Betway Premiership this weekend.
Under new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the club has seen an upturn in fortune and come into this game in 12th place on 25 points, three clear of SuperSport in the relegation places.
Ouaddou led his side to wins over Cape Town City and TS Galaxy as Matsatsantsa held the Citizens to a 0-0 draw.
SuperSport is enduring a woeful campaign and sacked legendary head coach Gavin Hunt before leaving Andre Arendse in charge of the side for the rest of their campaign.
Cape Town City v Sekhukhune United
Cape Town City sacked Muhsin Ertugral after a run of poor results, with assistant Diogo Peral put in charge, and Roger de Sar drafted in to assist, alongside Lebogang Manyama.
They are in 14th place with 24 points from 24 games and have not won in 10 games, last beating Richards Bay back in January.
Sekhuhkune conversely are enjoying a superb season in fifth place with 34 points from 22 games, although they come into this game after losing 2-1 to Stellenbosch in the league and 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns in a Nedbank Cup quarter-final encounter.
