Betway Premiership action resumes this weekend with a hard-hitting clash between in-form Siwelele visiting AmaZulu on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The weekend action will close off with title-chasing Orlando Pirates, who will welcome relegation-threatened Chippa United on Tuesday.
Please note that Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC league matches have been postponed as they are participating in Caf competitions.
Here’s a preview and prediction of the Betway Premiership Round 13 matches.
Saturday, 22 November
8/10 AmaZulu | Draw 22/10 | Siwelele 33/10 (15:30)
Usuthu will be looking to return to winning ways following their 1-0 loss to Polokwane City. Goalkeeper Darren Johnson has been in fine form and has garnered the attention of the Bafana Bafana head coach, Hugo Broos.
He is expected to continue with his impressive showings in a bid to secure a spot in the national team squad that will partake in Afcon next month.
Siwelele, on the other hand, will aim to extend their unbeaten run of four matches. They experienced a rocky start to the season but seem to have turned the tide, winning three, drawing once and losing once in their five recent league matches.
Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Tebogo Potsane has rediscovered his form and played an important role in Siwelele’s recent success. Back this match to end in a draw.
18/10 Marumo Gallants | Draw 19/10 | Sekhukhune United 15/10 (18:00)
Gallants will now shift their focus to league action after booking a spot in the final of the Carling Knockout Cup against Orlando Pirates. They have been struggling in the league, having conceded five goals in their recent two matches.
Attacking midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo has been enjoying a good run of form, providing important goals for the Bloemfontein-based team and is a man who is expected to trouble the visitors’ defence.
Eric Tinkler’s side is winless in their past four matches, which has seen them drop to fourth place. Tinkler is under pressure to return to the winning lane and stay in the title race.
The break should have been more than enough to resolve their issues and find a winning formula. However, they face one of the most tactically disciplined teams in the league, which does not crack under pressure. My money is on Gallants to win.
Sunday, 23 November
1/1 TS Galaxy | Draw 2/1 | Golden Arrows 28/10 (15:30)
These two teams met last month in the League Cup in what was a highly-contested clash with Arrows proceeding after winning 2-1 in extra-time.
Galaxy have won their recent two league matches at home and will take advantage of the backing of their home fans to overcome Arrows’ fast-paced tempo in the game.
Manqoba Mngqithi’s troops are still reeling from their Carling semifinal exits. A place in the top half of the table is guaranteed should they bag maximum points in this showdown.
Arrows should work on their sloppy defence, which has conceded 16 goals, while attacker Junior Dion has been a major contributor in the 18 league goals that they have netted. Back this match to end in a draw.
13/10 Richards Bay | Draw 2/1 | Durban City 2/1 (18:00)
The two KwaZulu-Natal-based teams met on 25 October in the Carling Cup quarterfinal with Richards Bay winning 3-1 on extra time after the match ended 1-1 on regular time. Bay showed class and used their experience in the topflight to top the newly promoted side.
The Ronnie Gabriel-led team is without a win in their past four league outings. They managed to finish in the top half last season despite spending the greater part of their campaign on the drop zone.
City had a commendable start for a side that is new in the Betway Premiership, the experience of coach Gavin Hunt, who roped in some well-travelled campaigners, including Darren Keet, Terrence Mashego and Hashim Domingo, to name a few looks to be paying dividends as the club has managed to be in the top half of the log for the greater part of the 2025/26 season. Bet on City to win.
Tuesday, 25 November
1/5 Orlando Pirates | Draw 9/2 | Chippa United 10/1 (19:30)
The Sea Robbers are looking to dethrone Sundowns at the top of the standings. A win will see them equalling Downs’ 25 points.
They are odds-on favourites to come out victorious in this match, given their fine form in comparison to Chippa’s disastrous showings.
The Chilli Boys are at the foot of the log, having secured one win, four draws and succumbed to seven losses.
It remains to be seen whether Vusumuzi Vilakazi managed to develop a turnaround strategy during the recent international break. Easy win for Pirates.
