Betway Prem: Kaizer Chiefs Secure Attacker with Contract Extension

Kaizer Chiefs have extended Ashley Du Preez’s contract, keeping the dynamic forward at the club until 2027, following his return from injury.

The 27-year-old’s contract was reportedly renewed for an additional two years, despite interest from clubs abroad.

According to iDiski Times, Amakhosi made the decision to extend Du Preez’s deal last week, ensuring his future with the club for the foreseeable future. The extension is significant, as it comes just after Du Preez’s return to full fitness following a six-match injury layoff.

During the off-season, Portuguese clubs Santa Clara and Vitória Sport Clube were said to be monitoring Du Preez closely, impressed by his blistering pace and attacking potential.

Despite this, Chiefs acted quickly to secure his services, signaling their commitment to retaining key players as coach Nasreddine Nabi aims to lead the club back to its former glory.

Du Preez made his return in Chiefs’ 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, where he came on as a first-half substitute but was later substituted himself.

However, he made a resounding impact in his next appearance, scoring the match-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Magesi FC after coming off the bench. His goal secured three crucial points for the Naturena-based side in the league, proving his value to the team.
