Betway Prem: Chiefs assistant sends message to Amakhosi players

Kaizer Chiefs are determined to stay focused on their process despite inconsistent results, according to assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef. This comes after a 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium, their fifth league loss of the season.

Despite the loss, Chiefs remain sixth in the Betway Premiership with 18 points from 13 matches, having both scored and conceded 16 goals.

Ben Youssef emphasized the importance of moving forward quickly. “Every day – you win or you lose, you have to prepare for the next game. If we won this game or if we lost this game, you have to be prepared for the next one.

“We did what we have to do. For sure, we are not happy about the situation, but we are ready to prepare the players.

“We will have two days’ rest with the players and then we will come back and continue working. We believe what we are doing, we know what we have to do.

“All the players believe in the capacity and they know what they have to do. We have to continue to work, there is no solution about working.

“To get the results, you have to work and we will continue working.”

Chiefs will return to the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium to face currently third-placed Sekhukhune United. However, they will be without head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who begins a two-match suspension after being sent off in their defeat to Golden Arrows. Kick off in Durban is scheduled for 15h30 on Sunday, 19 January.
