Benni McCarthy ready for his next coaching gig

Benni McCarthy says he’s ready to take a top job after parting ways with Manchester United.

The former Cape Town City and AmaZulu head coach was recently released from his role as striker coach with the Red Devils.

He was linked with a return to Usuthu before Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi were appointed as co-coaches.

McCarthy has also previously been mentioned as a candidate for Bafana Bafana.

Speaking to the Whistle Podcast, the former Porto and Blackburn Rovers striker explained that he is waiting for the right opportunity to express himself at the highest level.

McCarthy said: “The first step is belief in yourself.

“I had that belief as a player, and I still have it now as a coach.

“I never limited myself to just being an ordinary player, and I won’t do that with my coaching career.

“I believe I can reach the level of the best coaches in the world with the right club, the right opportunity, and given the chance.”
