Baxter to headline Chiefs’ new recruits

Today could be the day for the eagerly-waited Kaizer Chiefs fans, who have watched their rivals strengthen while they’re still up in limbo, yet to announce new players, while the coaching role remains vacant.

However, our sources tell us that Stuart Baxter, Andriamirado ‘Dux’ Hasina Andrianarimanana, Talent Chawapiwa and Anthony Laffor could be announced today.

Baxter won two league titles, a Nedbank Cup and a MTN8 trophy at his previous stint at Amakhosi between 2012 and 2015.

Dux shined in the Cosafa Cup for Madagascar, where he could grab further attention from Baxter, who was on national team duty with South Africa.

The deal between Chawapiwa and Chiefs was stalling on an agreement with the fee, but with the Soweto-based club set to announce new signings, an indication is now made that he could be announced with the rest of the new recruits.

Sundowns stalwart, Laffor, is another player that Chiefs could announce.

There could be further surprises with Khama Billiat attracting interest from the Soweto giants, although a deal for Lebogang Manyama seems unlikely at the moment as his agent has a problem with Bobby Motaung and is trying to avoid his client plying his trade in Naturena.
