Baxter preaches patience in second Seychelles clash

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter says his side must be patient in trying to score goals in difficult conditions during their second AFCON clash with Seychelles, on Tuesday.

Bafana demolished the East African archipelago 6-0 last Saturday and now face Pirates for the second time in three days at the Stad Linite in Victoria.

A good result against the minnows could set them up strongly at the top of Group E in qualifying with Libya set to face Nigeria on Monday evening at home.

Currently, Baxter’s side top the standings and will move to 10 points if they collect the three points.

Speaking to the South African Football Association’s official website, the 65-year-old said: “The pitch is not great and the lights are not great‚ but it doesn’t really matter, because we have to take the points and it’s as simple as that.

“We have to make sure we have the patience. Maybe we don’t score in the first five minutes and maybe it takes half an hour.

“I got a lot of very nice messages from the coaches in the PSL, saying that’s the way we love to see South Africa play, moving the ball quickly with some combinations and that’s the way I see us playing.
