Azam FC has confirmed their willingness to consider offers for their highly regarded Tanzanian midfielder, Feisal Salum who has been on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi continue to be linked with a number of players, in a bid to improve their squad, and have reportedly also shown an interest in Bafana midfielder Sphephelo Sithole, who is currently on loan at Gil Vicente from fellow Portuguese side Tondela.
Salum, meanwhile, was said to have been a Chiefs target during the January transfer window but a deal failed to materialise.
Azam spokesperson Thabit Zacharia says the Tanzanian Premier League side would be open to letting the player leave.
He told FARPost: “We expect Feisal to deliver results because we are paying him a lot of money.
“However, if he decides to leave, that will be his choice. We are not stopping him from leaving.
“We have no plans to let Feisal go. But if a team makes an offer that meets our expectations, we will not stand in his way. However, as of now, we have not received any offers from any club.”
Sithole agent Manuel Tomas, meanwhile, explained that Chiefs have not made an offer for his client.
He explained: “In December, yes, we received some calls from the club (Chiefs).
“We don’t know what will happen, it’s football. But we haven’t received an official offer from Chiefs for Sithole. It was just discussions with the club and the people from the club, no official offer has been made.”
