ASEKHO TIWANI READY TO FIGHT FOR HIS PLACE AT MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Asekho Tiwani is determined to make the most of his move to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The new signing will have to fight for his place at the Brazilians after penning a long-term deal from Sekhukhune United.

The talented 19-year-old left-back was snapped up to provide competition for Aubrey Modiba and Terrence Mashego in defence and is confident he will break his way into the starting eleven under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Tiwani, who was recently in action for Amajita in friendly wins over Lesotho this past week, where he skippered the side, added that he will cherish every minute with Downs.

He said in the Sowetan: “I am so determined to fight. I am not scared of competition. If I were scared, I would have stayed at Sekhukhune.

“I don’t doubt my potential because they [Sundowns] signed me for a reason, so I will work very hard to make sure that I impress the technical team to always be in the playing squad.”

Tiwani added: “Everything is good at Sundowns, the facilities and training sessions are world-class. I am so happy to be there. I know that I will learn a lot there so that I will be a better player. The team is so united and everyone there is a good person.

“I take this as a blessing because not everyone gets such an opportunity to play for Sundowns, who are currently one of the best teams in Africa.”
