The Durban based club will begin their 2025/26 season at home with a tricky encounter against newly promoted Orbit College before heading to Tshwane to for a clash against defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Usuthu will look to end a six-match winless streak in league matches against Sundowns, before hosting Marumo Gallants, who they defeated 2-0 in their last encounter in Durban.
Coach Arthur Zwane’s side then travel to face Sekhukhune United, a team who collected six points from the KwaZulu-Natal outfit last season.
The team wraps up the month of August with a clash against Magesi, having won both previous fixtures between them without conceding in the 2024/25 Betway Premiership.
AmaZulu have revamped their squad following a clear-out of 17 players during the off season including veteran goalkeeper Veli Mothwa and the transfer of winger Tshepang Moremi to Orlando Pirates.
However, the club has roped in defender Keagan Allen, 24, goalkeeper Darren Johnson, 27, striker Ryan Moon, 28, and Zimbabwean forward Thando Ngwenya, 22, whilst promoting a number of youngsters from their youth structures.
“The games will come thick and fast, but at least this time we’ve got a full week to prepare,” said head coach Zwane following MTN8 quarter final loss against Stellenbosch.
“You can imagine if after playing this tough match, we had to play on Wednesday, it was going to take a lot from us. But this time we can recover and prepare the players both physically and psychologically for what’s to come against Orbit.”
