Vukusic joined Usuthu in September last year but the KZN-based club have only picked up 18 points from 18 games under the guidance of the Slovakian.

AmaZulu currently sit rock bottom in the Premiership standings with Vukusic overseeing 10 losses, five victories and three draws while in charge.

Former Usuthu striker Ayanda Dlamini has been announced as the interim head coach of the club.

AmaZulu said in a statement: “The club has taken a decision to place Head Coach, Jozef Vukusic on special leave with immediate effect.

“This is to allow the club to deal with certain internal matters.

“In the interim, Ayanda Dlamini will be taking charge of training sessions and first team matters. He will be joined by Moeneeb Josephs until further notice.”

Speculation is rife that Norman Mapeza, who resigned as Chippa United coach on Tuesday, will be announced as the new mentor at AmaZulu.
