Godfrey Mashigo (20′), Motsie Mervyn Matima (68′) and Thabang Sibanyoni (89′) were all on target in a convincing 3-0 victory at the Seshego Stadium on Tuesday.

The result left Freese’s side bottom of the league standings, but now just within one point of Orbit College in the relegation/promotion places and 14th-placed Gallants – and with a game in hand.

Reflecting on the encounter, a proud Freese said it was important for his side to get on the scoresheet more than once and is eager for a similar result against Sekhukhune on Saturday.

“It’s always good to score goals it counts going forward,” said Freese on iDiski Times.

“At the end of the day, maybe we’ll need those three goals you can never know.

“But I’m very happy about the performance of the boys. We played according to the way we wanted to play and I’m happy about that.

“Like we created far more chances which we could have still scored other goals but three goals and playing well I’m happy about that.”

Freese added that closing the gap at the bottom of the standings is a boost with eight games of the season left to play.

“Very much [pleased to have narrowed the gap] and that was our aim,” added the coach.

“We are playing at home, get the three points and then let’s look forward to the next game. Now what we do we go back we prepare for the next game.”
