Abdeslam Ouaddou hails Orlando Pirates after narrow win over Orbit College

Abdeslam Ouaddou, who is the coach of Orlando Pirates, hailed his team for their narrow 1-0 win over newly promoted Orbit College on Tuesday, insisting that there is no small team in the Betway Premiership.

Lebone Seema scored the only goal of the game at the Orlando Stadium after 56 minutes to secure all three points and lift his side onto six points, in seventh place from their opening four games of the new season.

The match came on the back of a hard-fought MTN8 semi-final penalty shootout win over Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend.

Reflecting on the tie, against the newly-promoted team, Ouaddou explained that despite some fatigue in the squad, he was able to engineer the win by making a number of changes.

Ouaddou told SuperSport: “Yes, happy with the win after the Sundowns game. We were a bit tired and made some changes, but I have to congratulate this team of Orbit as well.

“I told you that it will not be easy because they have this dynamic of being promoted to the PSL so it was not easy. We know now with the PSL there’s no small teams.”

Pirates are next in action away to Chippa United on Sunday.
