Letsholonyane: It made sense to go straight into coaching

Reneilwe Letsholonyane says it makes sense for him to use the skills he has acquired over the years to move into coaching.

The 40-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana star last played for TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership.

He decided to call time on his long and illustrious career at the end of last season.

Letsholonyane has been taking part in a CAF B Coaching Course in Zambia in recent days and speaking to FAZ TV, he explained the nature of his new career path.

He said: "What I am hoping to achieve or gain from the course is to be better equipped and to have learned the information needed to coach current players so that they can be top athletes.

"Football is my life. I've always said that I didn't get involved in football by accident. It didn't make sense for me to move away from football when I retired.

"It made sense that I would go straight into coaching and impart what I've learned over the past 15 years at the highest level and try and improve our football in the country, and continent.

"[This is] because whether we like it or not, the standard is slowly going down because football people are not involved in football."
