Carvajal taunts Salah over 'revenge' comments

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has warned Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah that his comments ahead of the Champions League final could backfire.

Salah has been talking in the build-up about how highly motivated Liverpool are to get revenge over Real Madrid for their 2018 defeat.

The Egyptian star was famously pulled down and injured by former Real defender Sergio Ramos and was brought to tears when having to be replaced.

Many across the footballing world and those involved with Liverpool felt that Ramos had deliberately tried to injure Salah, who was in the form of his life during that season.

And Salah has tweeted in the build-up that 'we have a score to settle', while saying he is 'extremely motivated' to get his revenge.

Carvajal, who is a four-time Champions League winner with Los Blancos, has responded with some mind-games, saying that he envisages the pressure Salah is putting on himself to avenge the 2018 loss may be too much for him to bear and work against him.

"I don't know if Salah or Liverpool are out for revenge," Carvajal told ABC.

"It's true that when you lose a Champions League final, you always want to have a second chance against the same team to beat them.

"Hopefully, it won't be a major burden for Salah to lose a second Champions League final against Real Madrid."
