SuperSport United midfielder Jamie Webber says there is no reason why they can't be the team that hands Mamelodi Sundowns their first league defeat of the season on Saturday.

United host Downs at Lucas Moripe Stadium tomorrow night having met two weeks ago, in a match which ended 2-2 after SuperSport came back from two goals down to grab the draw.

In an interview with The Sowetan, Webber said Matsatsantsa head into this derby clash with an air of confidence after their hard fought 1-0 win against Stellenbosch on Wednesday, thanks to a late goal by Bradley Grobler.

"I really feel like we have what it takes to beat Sundowns, especially looking at how well we played against them in the previous game. I feel like we could have easily won that game, so building on that I don't see why we can't beat them.

"We must just be clinical because last time that's what let us down," Webber told The Sowetan.

"We have a chance to upset them. It's our home game, so we must not allow Sundowns to come and do as they please. Yes, we respect them but we know they can also be beaten like any other good side in the world."

Webber added that he feels Sundowns are very much still the favourites to win the league title this season but hopes Matsatsantsa can finish in the top-three and play continental football next season.

"Yes, we can beat Sundowns but I don't see them losing the league. So, for us to say we want to win the league would be unrealistic because Sundowns will win it at the end.

"Our aim is to finish in the top three and I believe we can do it. We want to play in the CAF competitions next season, we have told ourselves that," he added.
