Saturday 16 October

JVW FC 8/10
Draw 23/10
Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies 28/10

JVW FC will continue their search for six points in two games this week when Bloemfontein Celtic come to town on Saturday. Phunya Sele Sele need to improve their record on the road that’s seen them suffer five straight defeats.

Despite collecting six points over Coal City Wizards and Ma-Indies Ladies at home in Bethlehem last week, Siwelele’s struggles away from the Goble Park Stadium is a worrying factor for their goal of finishing as high as possible on the Hollywoodbets Super League table.

We might just have a low-scoring affair on our hands considering JVW FC managed to keep five clean sheets in six games, prior to the midweek meeting with UWC Ladies and Celtic defender Jeanett Mokota has been a shining light for her team, continuously earning the Player of the Match award.

Mamello Makhabane will hopefully recover from her knock sustained while on national team duty to play in the heart of midfield for the Blue Diamonds, allowing Robyn Moodaly to move back to her attacking midfielder/winger role. I’m expecting JVW FC to make home advantage count.

Golden Ladies 5/2
Draw 21/10
Ma-Indies Ladies 1/1

Golden Ladies can be proud of their display against Sundowns but then travelled from Mafikeng to De Aar, making a 600km trip to face a well-rested Richmond United who put them to the sword.

The only way for Golden Ladies to bounce from a 4-0 defeat is to continue doing what coach Fani Motaung implemented in September which saw a visible improvement in results that helped the North-West club lift themselves off the foot of the table.

Ma-Indies Ladies suffered a 2-0 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic last Sunday after claiming maximum points over Tsunami Queens and Richmond United, and will be hungry to get back to winning ways.

On home soil, I’ve begun to trust Golden Ladies to get the job done, get on!

Golden Ladies

First Touch FC 9/1
Draw 9/2
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies 1/5

First Touch FC have the pleasure of hosting champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane. The Limpopo-based club return home from last week’s goal-laden encounter which ended Thunderbirds Ladies 4-4 First Touch FC.

These sides haven’t faced each other this season, their match was scheduled in June but was called off due to medical reasons. Let’s not dwell into this fixture any longer, back Masandawana’s Ladies, the only way to go.

Masandawana's first-team players are expected to return after resting against Tsunami Queens

Coal City Wizards 7/4
Draw 2/1
Thunderbirds Ladies 14/10

Coal City Wizards will be hoping to shutout yet another visiting team at the Puma Stadium in Witbank. Ma’Wizards have kept five consecutive clean sheets on home soil, while Thunderbirds Ladies come off a 4-4 draw and will want to reconcile their mistakes in defence which uncharacteristically saw them ship four goals.

Coal City Wizards are searching for the magic after losing points to Golden Ladies and Bloem Celtic on their travels. Thunderbirds played their last four games at home in Mdantsane and will be hoping to edge out a victory over Ma’Wizards.

These sides played out to a goalless draw in their previous meeting, I’m expecting another stalemate in this contest.

Thunderbirds Ladies and First Touch FC in action

UWC Ladies 1/4
Draw 4/1
Tsunami Queens 7/1

UWC Ladies are massive favourites to replicate the 3-0 victory over bottom-placed club Tsunami Queens. Abongile Dlani’s double secured the points for the Bushies away at the Clarens Stadium, four months ago. Coach Thinasonke Mbuli’s charges have won seven of their eight matches at the UWC Stadium.

Sibulele Holweni was one of the standout performers for South Africa during the COSAFA Cup and is simply a joy to watch for football purists. I’m expecting Holweni to register on the scoresheet and UWC to win with a clean sheet.

UWC Ladies

UJ Ladies 11/2
Draw 3/1
TUT Ladies 4/10

The battle between UJ Ladies and TUT Ladies will produce an excellent match of football. Salome Kekana’s strike proved to be the difference when these sides met at the TUT Stadium in Pretoria.
UJ Ladies returning from their midweek fixture in Durban will surely have a bearing on the game as TUT Ladies are a quality team and will be well-rested.

Prior to their clash with Durban Ladies, the Orange Army claimed three wins in four matches as Jessica Wade returned from an injury lay-off. The bookies suggest TUT Ladies will make light work of UJ Ladies, I’m going against their judgement putting my money on these sides sharing the spoils.

Sunday 17 October

Durban Ladies 31/20
Draw 2/1
Richmond United 31/20

Durban Ladies welcome Richmond United to the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday, their second match of the week after clashing with UJ Ladies. At the time of writing, this game is set to be broadcasted live.

Durban Ladies were still trying to find their feet early on in the season but still managed to secure a 3-2 victory over Richmond United in De Aar, after losing their first seven league matches. Richmond United have failed to win in seven games on their travels, take Durban Ladies to end their six-game winless streak.

Durban Ladies secured a 2-2 draw thanks to veteran Memory Makhanya in the 90th minute against UJ Ladies
