Hollywoodbets Super League Women: Gameweek 15/16 Preview

Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies

The cream of the crop has been selected to depart to Nigeria on Sunday for the Aisha Buhari Cup set to be held in Lagos. 12 players of the final 18-woman squad are locally based, meaning there will be only four fixtures this weekend.

I’m confident my 10/1 quad will add a little coinage to your betting purse!

Saturday 11 September

UJ Ladies 16/10
Draw 2/1
Richmond United 16/10
(15:00)

UJ Ladies ended their seven-game winless spell away in Harrismith, beating Tsunami Queens in a hard-fought battle. Mpho Seabi drew the Orange Army level before the half-time whistle following Tsunami Queens’ free-kick that opened the scoring in style. UJ eventually ran out 3-2 winners in an enthralling second period, and will look to build on the positives taken from the victory.

Richmond United coincidentally also brought an end to their own seven-match winless streak by edging out a 1-0 win over Coal City Wizards in a game that was marred by controversial refereeing.

UJ Ladies will draw level on 15 points with victory over Richmond United, however, with so much on the line, it will be a tough ask. My money is on UJ Ladies winning 1-0.

Coal City Wizards 14/10
Draw 2/1
Ma-Indies Ladies 18/10
(15:00)

Coal City Wizards will return home to Witbank licking their wounds from a 1-0 defeat to Richmond United. Mawizards were in impressive form, sharing the spoils with First Touch and JVW prior to wins over UJ Ladies and Tsunami Queens. The Mpumalanga-based club will have a lot to prove and will be aiming to get back to winning ways.

Ma-Indies Ladies come into the clash without a win in seven Hollywoodbets Super League games, although they haven’t had the easiest of fixture lists taking on five of the top six teams leading up to this encounter.

This one is too tough to call. I’m sitting on the fence and backing a draw; I wouldn’t be surprised if this closely fought match ends goalless after 90 minutes.

Coal City Wizards Ladies

First Touch FC 1/7
Draw 7/1
Golden Ladies 9/1
(15:00)

First Touch FC will target maximum points over the league’s bottom club Golden Ladies on home soil at the Seshego Stadium. A victory will see the Polokwane outfit become the fifth team to reach 30 points.

Jeanet Fisher scored both goals for the hosts last Sunday away at Ma-Indies Ladies and you get the feeling she will add to her tally against the league’s second-leakiest defence.

Golden Ladies have lost 12 of their 14 games this season and will use this campaign to learn lessons for next season when promotion and relegation is enforced. First Touch FC are tipped confidently – in fact if the option was available, I’d also back Dikgoshigadi’s goalkeeper Kgothatso Manamela to keep a clean sheet.

Sunday 12 September

Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies 3/10
Draw 4/1
Tsunami Queens 13/2
(14:30)

Without delving into this clash in detail, Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies look another sure bet this weekend. As mentioned above, Golden Ladies have the second-leakiest defence thanks to Tsunami Queens.

Siwelele haven’t had the easiest of times with the fixture congestion – they’ve played four away games on the bounce. The reverse clash in Harrismith saw Celtic claim maximum points with a 3-1 victory. I’m expecting Phunya Sele Sele to do the league double over Tsunami Queens.

QUAD @ 10/1
UJ Ladies Win 16/10
Coal City Wizards vs Ma-Indies Ladies – Draw 2/1
First Touch FC Win 1/7
Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies Win 3/10
