Fifth-placed Wits had hoped to close the gap to leaders Kaizer Chiefs, having had four games in hand, but after the defeat to Eric Tinkler's side, the best they can hope for is to come within six points of Amakhosi.

"Yeah obviously disappointed you know. I mean we knew it's going to be tough for us, playing every two to three days, extra time, blah blah blah, you know," Hunt told the media after the match.

"It is what it is, you know. I think if you last played Friday and Saturday it will give you an extra day [playing on Wednesday] you know, but [our previous game] playing Sunday is close. But it is what it is."

Hunt was also critical of the state of the pitch at Bidvest Stadium, suggesting his side play better football away from home.

"I think we are better away from home anyway. We are better away from home, much better," he continued.

"This place, not good enough, losing 1-0. We've lost three games here. The pitch is heavy here as well."

Despite their title chances being slim, Hunt was more frustrated with the fixture pile-up his side faces, although he conceded that it is a sign of growth.

"It's not a blow because imagine we play Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday and Sunday," he continued.

"Yeah it's tough. If everybody had the same programme it would be fine but it doesn't work like that. But it means you've been successful, that's the most important thing.

"When you play a lot of games, it means you are successful."
