Italian Serie A: Gameweek 15 Preview

It was a shocking round of football last time out with Juventus and Napoli dropping points in what looked to be straight-forward victories. Inter Milan have risen to the top following the Old Lady’s disappointing draw with Sassuolo, Cagliari and Roma gaining ground on the defending champions. There was no change at the opposite end of the standings with the bottom five teams all tasting defeat. Let’s find out what round 15 has in store.

Inter Milan 17/20
Draw 28/10
Roma 28/10
(21:45)

Inter Milan have continued their excellent form with 12 wins from 14 matches, scoring 31 goals and conceding just 13 times. Roma have been excellent of late with back-to-back wins, scoring six goals and conceding just once. This is usually a fiery affair and with Inter at the summit, I’m expecting a cracking contest. Nine of the last 10 meetings have seen both sides find the back of the net, including the last seven. Both Teams to Score – Yes – is the call at 6/10.

Saturday 7 December

Atalanta 7/20
Draw 4/1
Hellas Verona 15/2
(16:00)

Atalanta ended a winless run of four matches, including two defeats with a 3-0 thumping of Brescia last time out. Hellas Verona were beaten 3-1 at home and will be looking to brush that off on Saturday afternoon. La Dea have lost back-to-back games on home soil but should turn the corner here. The last three meetings have produced 11 goals at a rate of 3.6 per game. Back the Over 2.5 Goals market at 11/20.

Udinese 39/10
Draw 26/10
Napoli 7/10
(19:00)

Udinese have been poor of late with two defeats on the bounce, scoring just once and conceding five times. However, Napoli have been in disarray with a winless run of eight matches in all competitions. One team is skating on thin ice around the relegation zone, while the other is fading away from the top four. Both sides will be looking to get back to winning ways and with that being said, the Both Teams to Score – Yes – market should be taken at 17/20.

Lazio 37/20
Draw 24/10
Juventus 14/10
(21:45)

Lazio have been in top form with six wins on the trot, scoring a total of 17 goals. However, following Juve’s disappointing 2-2 draw at home against Sassuolo, the Old Lady will eager to keep the pressure on Inter Milan. The defending champions remain unbeaten this season with 11 wins and three draws from 14 matches. A cagey affair is on the cards. The Totals – Under 2.5 – Goals market is tipped at 9/10.

Sunday 8 December

Lecce 16/10
Draw 49/20
Genoa 16/10
(13:30)

Lecce are off the back of an impressive and hard-fought 1-0 win away to Fiorentina and will be looking to build on that. Genoa remain winless on their travels after seven matches and that doesn’t look likely to improve. However, the newcomers have been just as poor on home soil as they are yet to taste victory. Another low-scoring affair looks to be the case here, so get on the Totals – Under 2.5 – Goals market at 21/20.

Torino 14/10
Draw 22/10
Fiorentina 2/1
(16:00)

Torino have been terrible at home, scoring just six goals in seven matches and have suffered back-to-back losses at Olympic Grande Torino Stadium. Fiorentina have been dismal in recent weeks with three consecutive losses. Both teams have struggled to score goals of late. The Both Halves Under 1.5 Goals market offers great value at 13/10, get on!

Sassuolo 29/20
Draw 49/20
Cagliari 18/10
(16:00)

Both sides are running on high confidence! Sassuolo would have been ecstatic following their excellent 2-2 draw at Juventus, while Cagliari have continued to push the boundaries four a place in the top four this season. Some would say they are a poor man’s Leicester City. I’m expecting a lot of goals here with both sides pressing from the first blow of the whistle. Have a small go on the Both Halves Over 1.5 Goals – Yes – at a mouth-watering 36/10!

SPAL 21/20
Draw 23/10
Brescia 11/4
(16:00)

SPAL have been horrendous in 19th place with just two wins from 14 matches, scoring only nine goals in the process. Brescia have been even worse at the foot of the table with 10 defeats from 13 games. It seems like I’m predicting a low-scoring round of football but that’s okay, as long as it pays off. The Total – Under 2.5 – Goals market is on the cards at 13/20.

Sampdoria 1/1
Draw 47/20
Parma 28/10
(19:00)

Sampdoria have been poor this season with just three wins from 14 matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding double that amount. However, they put up a good fight last time out against Cagliari despite going down 4-3. Parma are without a win in their last five games on the road but have played to three draws on the spin. Both Teams to Score – Yes – looks a decent bet at 17/20.

Bologna 18/10
Draw 47/20
AC Milan 15/10
(21:45)

Team morale will be up in the Bologna camp after grounding out a well-deserved 2-1 victory at Napoli last weekend. AC Milan ended a winless run of three games with a narrow 1-0 win away to Parma. I doubt there will be more than three goals scored in this game with 13 being scored in the last six clashes at 2.1 per match. The Totals Aggregate – 2-3 goals – market is tipped at 19/20.
