Johnson is currently available after parting ways with AmaZulu in September, while the local press also had him as one of two coaches on Cape Town City's wishlist following the sacking of Benni McCarthy.

However, the Citizens opted to bring in Dutch coach Jan Olde Riekerink, meaning Johnson is still on the lookout for a new club.

"I haven't received any offer from any club, but I'm still waiting for anyone to call me," Johnson told KickOff.com.

It seems AmaZulu are unlikely to get in touch with Johnson as according to an anonymous source, club boss Johnny Mogaladi could follow in the footsteps of the Citizens by appointing a foreign coach.

When contacted by Kickoff, the anonymous source said: "I wouldn't say Johnson won't get the job but knowing the Polokwane City boss [Johnny Mogaladi] his first option will be overseas before looking at Johnson.

"He's a man who likes to get unknown coaches."

If the anonymous source is to be believed, then caretaker coach Bernard Molekwa will retain his position for the time being.
