Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is grateful for the upcoming international break as it will allow time for several key players to recover from injury.

George Maluleka, Reeve Frosler, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Kearyn Baccus have all picked up muscle strains in recent times, while Samir Nurkovic and Itumeleng Khune came off injured in the clashes with AmaZulu and Baroka respectively.

Chiefs' next game is on October 27 - a titanic clash with Mamelodi Sundowns at home in the Absa Premiership - which at least allows those with injuries to make their recoveries.

“We will collect our players’ injuries and what we picked up in the last three games, it’s not a big deal,” said Middendorp.

“Kearyn Buccus got a knock and thought it would get better, but like Reeve Frosler, George Maluleka, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Kgotso Moleko, Samir Nurkovic – they will all start on Monday.

“So, we will regroup and start afresh with this same ambition as the last three games to collect as much points as possible, and I think we achieved those goals.”
