Italian Serie A: Gameweek 6 Preview

Inter Milan seem to be holding steady at the summit after six rounds, maintaining a 100 percent win-record. But that will be in jeopardy this weekend with defending champions Juventus coming to town. Further down the pecking order, Genoa, SPAL and Sampdoria occupy the relegation zone. That’s enough catching up for now, there are some epic fixtures on the menu this weekend, so let’s get to it.

Friday 4 October

Brescia 15/10
Draw 24/10
Sassuolo 7/4
(20:45)

Brescia have been dismal in recent weeks with four losses from their last five games, including back-to-back defeats. Sassuolo have lost three of their last four matches, including a 4-1 hammering at home against Atalanta last time out. Both sides will be desperate not to taste defeat for a third consecutive week. A lack of goalmouth action is expected so get on the Under 2.5 Goals market at even money.

Saturday 5 October

SPAL 12/10
Draw 47/20
Parma 9/4
(15:00)

SPAL are placed second from bottom on the table with five defeats from six games, scoring just five goals and conceding 13 times. Parma have been impressive of late with two wins on the bounce and will be looking to build on that. While SPAL managed to win both meetings last term, Parma is looking much stronger this season. Back the Crusaders on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 6/10.

Hellas Verona 17/10
Draw 23/10
Sampdoria 16/10
(18:00)

Hellas Verona are without a win in their last four matches, including two defeats and two draws. Sampdoria lie at the foot of the standings with five losses from six games, scoring just four goals and conceding 14 times. A cagey affair is on the cards with the hosts looking to keep their distance from the bottom three, while La Samp will be desperate to climb up from last place. Another low-scoring matchup looks likely. Get on the Under 2.5 Goals market at 8/10.

Genoa 18/10
Draw 9/4
AC Milan 31/20
(20:45)

Genoa have been dreadful in recent weeks with three losses from their last four matches. AC Milan haven’t been any better with three losses on the trot and that doesn’t look likely to improve this weekend. Neither team are worth backing but there is value in the exotics. Genoa and AC Milan are expected to have a go for maximum points. With that being said, take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 15/20.

Sunday 6 October

Fiorentina 11/20
Draw 3/1
Udinese 47/10
(12:30)

Fiorentina made a poor start to the season but have since bounced back as they remain unbeaten in their last four games, including back-to-back victories. Udinese ended a winless run of four matches with a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Bologna. Nonetheless, the Viola are looking confident and offer decent value to make it three wins on the spin. The home win is tipped.

Atalanta 3/10
Draw 9/2
Lecce 15/2
(15:00)

Atalanta have been excellent with four wins from their last six matches, scoring 15 goals in total – the joint highest in the league alongside Napoli. Lecce have done the opposite, going down four times in six games, scoring six times and conceding double that amount. With one team firing on all cylinders and the other shipping goals week in-and-week out, it makes a punters decision quite simple. Back the hosts on the (-1) Handicap at 15/20.

Bologna 2/1
Draw 26/10
Lazio 12/10
(15:00)

Bologna have been mediocre at best in 11th place. Inconsistency has let the team down so far and they’ll ben desperate to find a winning formula. Lazio have been suffering with the same issue but showed tremendous team spirit last time out as they thrashed Genoa 4-0. That alone should tell you that the Eagles are high on confidence coming into this contest. They have also won the last three meetings away to Bologna. The away win is tipped.

Roma 4/10
Draw 4/1
Cagliari 6/1
(15:00)

Roma have been impressive in recent weeks with three wins from their last four matches. Cagliari have been just as great but were disappointing last time out as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Hellas Verona. While I am surprised with how well Cagliari have started the season, I still feel it will be short lived. Roma have the firepower to blow them away and I’m backing them to do just that. Take the Giallorossi on the HT-FT Win at 19/20.

Torino 5/2
Draw  26/10
Napoli 1/1
(18:00)

Torino started the 2019/20 season like a house of fire but have struggled of late with three losses from their last four matches. Napoli returned to winning ways last weekend with a 2-1 win over Brescia, following their disappointing and embarrassing 1-0 home defeat against Cagliari. The last eight meetings have produced 31 goals at an average of 3. 87 goals per game. The Totals – Over 2.5 – Goals market is tipped at 6/10.

Inter Milan 33/20
Draw 43/20
Juventus 7/4
(20:45)

Inter Milan and Juventus will reignite their rivalry with a top of the log clash to end off the round. The Nerazzurri remain the only team in the league with a 100 percent win-record, while Juventus are unbeaten with five wins from six games. Four of the last five meetings have seen tightly contested affairs, including a shortage of goals. Follow the trend and take Under 2.5 Goals at 13/20.

TREBLE @ 9/2
Brescia vs Sassuolo Under 2.5 Goals 1/1
Parma Win/Draw 6/10
Atalanta (-1) Handicap Win 15/20
