Sredojevic plays down Pirates title chances

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic
Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has refused to be drawn into discussions about the side’s chances in the Absa Premiership this season.

The Buccaneers are in a good position domestically, trailing leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by one point with eight games left, albeit having played one more.

Pirates haven’t won Absa Premiership for sever years and ‘Micho’ has apologised to the fans for not bringing success sooner.

As we mentioned last year, we’ve healed the souls of our supporters. The biggest happiness for us is that two years ago the team accumulated 33 points all season, now we have – with eight games still to play – 39 points, which is something we’re happy with,” Sredojevic told the media.

“Regarding feeding their souls, we need to apologise to our supporters, we cannot serve all the food at once. We are looking towards every match to be a good portion of feeding their souls.

“I hope they’re seeing on the faces and body language of the players that they are giving everything for the badge and jersey, and this is our ultimate target.

“We know that once our players are giving everything, our supporters will be happy with the effort we’re putting in and, once we put the effort and get the support from our supporters, we know our quality will rise and that investment of effort will pay us back.
