Chiefs take aim at three remaining trophies in 2018/19

Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas says the club will try to win the Premiership, CAF Confederation Cup and the Nedbank Cup after being knocked out of the Telkom Knockout.

Chiefs went down 2-1 to Orlando Pirates last Saturday with Thembinkosi Lorch and Justin Shonga getting Bucs' goals whereas the Glamour Boys only strike came from Leo Castro.

It was the side's second defeat to their fierce rivals inside a month after they lost 2-1 to the Sea Robbers on 27 October in the league.

Nonetheless, while Solinas admits he was gutted by the loss, he still has his sights set on helping the team win the last three remaining competitions Chiefs are still involved in.

He told reporters: "I'm not feeling good, this is very painful. We tried to fight until the last second. We created chances and in the end of the game we were unlucky because we didn't score.

"Sometimes football is about little details and today Pirates took their chances, because we maybe if we scored in the last chance and we go to extra time maybe we would have won the match in the extra time and in the penalty shoot-outs.

"But this if football. I think in this moment we deserved to score, but it's...painful. We started the season with several targets, several objectives.

"The first one was the MTN8 and now we lost the opportunity to win this cup (TKO). Now we have three more trophies. The league, CAF Confederation Cup and the Nedbank Cup. We'll continue fighting.

"Me, I know I'll never give up. Me, I'll continue to work hard to try and win the trophies. I'll try to improve the team. Me, I'll never give up. Yes, I feel pain today, it’s very painful."
