Manyama: It's about sharing the responsibility

Kaizer Chiefs striker Lebogang Manyama

Kaizer Chiefs striker Lebogang Manyama has talked about the importance of sharing the goal-scoring responsibilities amongst what he feels is a very talented group.

Khama Billiat has been Amakhosi's primary source of goals so far this season and already has five to his credit in league and cup.

However, a number of Chiefs' other attackers have also been on the score-sheet, including the likes of Leonardo Castro, Guatavo Paez and Dumisani Zuma, while defenders Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Siyabonga Ngezana and Khotso Malope have also hit the net.

Manyama, who has played one game (the 4-1 victory over Cape Town City) for Chiefs since signing recently, is looking forward to linking up with the teams' exciting attacking talents, and has underlined the importance of everyone making a contribution.

"We know what they [Billiat and Castro] have done in South African football, what they did at Sundowns - they are very good players," " he told KickOff.

"I've known Khama for eight years now, and we all know what he can do and he's a very special player. We also have to share the responsibilities, it's very important not to only focus on the front three," the former Ajax and Cape Town City player continued.

"I mean, look, now we've lost Castro (to injury) and Gustavo Paez came in and did very well, which is very important that everybody feels important in the team.

"At any given time we can rotate and do very well for the team - that's the most important part. It's an honour to play with such talent, but there are other guys also doing very well.

"Zuma is doing well for himself, Ekstein came in and did very well against Cape Town City and on Tuesday so, like I said, it's about sharing the responsibility and making sure we move forward as a team."
