Hunt worried about Billiat threat

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt admits to being wary of the threat posed by Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat on the counter attack.

Billiat joined Amakhosi from Mamelodi Sundowns in the off-season and was awarded Man of the Match after the 1-1 draw against Masandawana in the opening league game of the season at Loftus last Saturday.

The Clever Boys meanwhile trounced Free State Stars 3-0 and will be feeling confident going into their Premiership clash with Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday night (19H30 kick off).

With a new coach in charge in Giovanni Solinas, Chiefs may perhaps still be finding their rhythm, but Hunt does not expect this to affect the game.

"I don't think they will be vulnerable at all. They have (Khama) Billiat, who is very dangerous when play breaks, and there’s a turnover of possession," he told the Star.

"I don't believe in this thing that there is a right time for this and that. They will compete. They are the biggest team in South Africa.

"And they have players who have won trophies before, and have all that experience to help them do well.

"I also think Solinas has got better quality now at Chiefs than during his time at Free State Stars, where he didn’t do too badly with, say, limited resources," Hunt added.
